How PULSE protects student data
What a business office, a technology director or a board member needs to know, with the full detail one click away.
A signed agreement first
Every district signs a Data Access and Protection Agreement with The Inclusive Practice, LLC before any student record enters PULSE. Under it, your district designates us a school official under FERPA, and we act under your direction.
Stored in the United States
Student data is stored in data centers in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest.
Every vendor named
Every company that receives district data is listed, with what it receives and where. The list is checked automatically against the services our code calls.
Never sold, never used to train models
Student data is used only to run PULSE for your district. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train language models.
Each district’s data stays its own
One district never sees another district’s records, and PULSE never uses one district’s data to shape another district’s figures.
Accessible in light and dark
We work to WCAG 2.2 AA in both modes and check every public page with automated tests. Tell us about any barrier and we will fix it.
Getting the agreement
Ask us for the current Data Access and Protection Agreement. Districts in states with their own student privacy requirements (including California, New York, Colorado, Virginia, Texas and Connecticut) can request the state version. We send it before any student record is shared, and nothing is imported until it is signed.
Certifications
PULSE itself holds no SOC 2 report or other security certification, and this site shows no badge for one. The services PULSE runs on are named on the subprocessor list. We carry $3 million in technology errors and omissions and cyber liability insurance.
