Your data agreement
Which agreement PULSE signs with your district, how state addenda work, who else handles your data, and how long PULSE keeps it.

The agreement
Every district signs the PULSE Data Access and Protection Agreement (DAPA) before student names appear in PULSE. We send it to you by email; the product itself never sends an agreement or collects a signature.
Some states ask for their own addendum alongside it. PULSE does not yet hold a finished addendum for any state, so for yours: we will send your state’s agreement.
Inside PULSE, the “Privacy agreement” item on Getting started shows which agreement applies to your state, what your district has on file, and what comes next.
Who else handles your data
The companies that host and run PULSE, and what each one receives, are listed on the subprocessors page at pulseforeducation.com/legal/subprocessors. That page is kept current.
How long PULSE keeps your data
Uploaded files: PULSE keeps what it extracts and deletes every uploaded file within 30 days. A daily job enforces this.
Your district’s records: kept while your agreement is active. When an agreement ends, tell us and we will arrange the return or deletion of your data. PULSE does not yet do this automatically, and we will tell you in writing when it is done.
Step by step
- See which agreement appliesOn Getting started, open “Privacy agreement” and choose your state. PULSE shows the agreement that applies, what your district has on file, and what comes next.
- Record a signed agreementIf your district signed on paper, record it from Getting started under “Privacy agreement”. Nothing is sent from that panel and no signature is collected there.
